This cycle of studies aims to ensure that Students acquire solid scientific, technical, ethical and relational training suitable for providing nursing care at different levels of prevention, aimed at the individual, the family and the community.
Admission to the 1st Cycle of studies can be done by several contest modalities: General Regime, Special Conditions and Special Competitions. More details on the topic “Information on the National Higher Education System”.
The qualification enables access to the professional title of Nurse, to be assigned by the Order of Nurses. The Nursing Graduate is qualified to perform duties at different levels of prevention, as well as in the area of management, research, education and training in different public and private health care institutions (see National Classification of Professions 2010 (CPP2010) (see National Classification of Professions 2010 (CPP2010); 222 - Nursing Professionals; 2221.1 - General care nurse. It is further qualified to work in a liberal regime in the fields referred to above.

-Provide and manage general nursing care to the person throughout the life cycle, to the family, to groups and communities, to the three levels of health prevention (primary, secondary and tertiary);
-Participate in the management of health services, units or establishments;
-Develop innovative skills and practices in the area of training and education for health;
-Properly use information and communication technologies in nursing;
-Collaborate in the development of the profession through critical thinking and research;
-Develop the practice of scientific research in the field of Nursing in particular, and Health in general;
-Practice nursing guided by the values of the profession and principles of the Red Cross, International Law, Geneva Conventions and additional protocols.
