Contribute to the development of specialized clinical skills in community nursing in the area of family health nursing; Play the role of expert in the health team in the area of Family Health Nursing; Contribute to the training of nurses with skills for the production and application of advanced scientific knowledge, as well as for autonomous, reflective decision-making based on the best available evidence; Develop skills in managing care units; Develop skills that allow nurses to learn throughout life in a self-oriented or autonomous way; Use the best scientific evidence to implement innovative solutions to problems sensitive to nursing care.
Holders of the following academic qualifications may apply for the course: a) Holders of a Bachelor's Degree or legally equivalent qualification in Nursing; b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, awarded following a first cycle of studies in Nursing, organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna process by countries adhering to this process; c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree in Nursing, recognized in Portugal, in accordance with Decree-Law no. 283/83, of 21 June, Decree-Law no. 341/2007, of 12 October and the Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of 16 August and which, cumulatively, meet the following additional requirements: i) Holders of the professional title of nurse; ii) Have at least 2 years of professional experience as nurses at the time of registration.

Develop a professional, ethical and legal practice, in the area of specialty, acting in accordance with legal standards, ethical principles and professional deontology; Caring for the family as a care unit, and for each of its members throughout the life cycle and at different levels of prevention; Integrate the foundations of nursing theories into therapeutic approaches to promoting health and family functioning in accordance with the best scientific evidence; Lead intervention processes within the scope of family health nursing; Ensure a driving role in the development and support of institutional strategic initiatives in the area of clinical governance; Adapt leadership and resource management to situations and context, aiming to guarantee the quality of care; Use research methodologies in the area of family health nursing.
