The ESSNorteCVP simulation and interactive learning center (Simlab@Learn) opened on April 25, 2018 by the minister of science, technology and higher education, Manuel Heitor, and the national president of the Red Cross, Francisco George, aims to contribute to practical training in different areas of health specialization, using simulation as an educational and collaborative learning technology. It aims to improve security in customer service, education and research through innovation with immersive and simulation-based learning techniques and tools, incorporating them into ESSNorteCVP's curriculum plans and training programs.
Simlab@Learn has a total area of 428m2, with several innovative scenarios and high realism, which allows the construction of highly complex clinical contexts in response to specific needs. In this way, we have:
Simulated practice is an opportunity for learning, for integrating theory into practice, and a challenge to the decision-making process in real time, in an environment that does not put clients, the target of their care, at risk.
At Simlab@Learn, active learning for students is advocated, from pre- to postgraduate education and in the ongoing training of health professionals, in order to improve student satisfaction and their self-efficacy.
