ESSNorteCVP as a Higher Education institution's mission is to provide services to the community and support development. It integrates social solidarity and volunteering in supporting the community in which it operates into its vision, aspects that intersect with its Social Responsibility. In this context, it is committed to promoting the development of the health and well-being potential of the community in which it operates.
The Community Service Provision Unit (UPSC) is a service that has assumed greater relevance in the School and in the work of teachers, having contributed to a continuous improvement in the pedagogical, scientific and training component, promoting/developing Volunteering and Citizenship. It has also helped to consolidate other areas of mission, intervention and greater visibility of the School in the Community.
The challenges currently posed to teaching, learning and research in Higher Education, associated with the social, economic and cultural challenges of our country, make us rethink new forms of intervention. The participation of students and teachers in intervention and research actions and projects in the community, the promotion of volunteering through social and cultural intervention, are some of the challenges.
This service also aims to develop the provision of innovative services that respond to needs; integrate community service projects into academic training with the possibility of awarding credits.




Lines of Intervention:

Line 1- Provision of services abroad;
Line 2- Pedagogical component through interinstitutional collaboration;
Line 3- Integration into national projects and partnerships;
Line 4- Cultural, sporting and artistic action abroad;
Line 5- Contribution to its regional and national development, adaptation to the institutional mission.

Goals:
– Enhance coordination between the academic community and civil society/community;
– Provide knowledge in scientific and training areas, responding to local needs;
– Contribute to the integration of a pedagogical component more linked to the training practice of new professionals;
– Provide health services to civil society/community, namely Education/Health Promotion;
– Promote and encourage the academic community to develop cultural sporting and artistic activities abroad;
– Contribute to its regional and national development.
