The Documentation, Information and Library Service (SDIB) of the Northern Health School of Portuguese Red Cross (ESSNorteCVP) aims to provide information of a scientific and technical nature in different supports, in order to enable an improvement in access to information and knowledge on the part of its users.
The SDIB is organized in order to ensure, with standards of quality and relevance, the information necessary for academic work and support, through bibliographical research, master's and doctoral theses and research in the scientific areas taught at the School and other activities.

Goals
The Library of the Escola Superior de Saúde Norte da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa provides documents from its own collection (in printed form and others).
- Satisfy curricular requirements and those arising from the educational system.
- Provide users with capabilities that allow them to use the greatest possible amount of information and provide them with these resources.
- Create Library frequency users for purposes not only of enjoyment, but also of information and training.
- Gather and organize/make available all existing documentation at the school so that it can be useful at any time to the entire community.
- Promote the rooting of the taste/interest in reading and the acquisition of skills.
- Promote the development of the “critical spirit”, the rooting of humanist values and preparation for life.
- Respond to requests imposed by the program.
- Provide documents for classes.
- Establish interaction external to the school in the scope of documentation and information.
