Cardiovascular diseases are nowadays a concern for health teams due to the impact they have not only on mortality, but also on health costs.
The prevention and promotion of cardiovascular health assume a preponderant role in this area, as well as the reintegration of the person in the event of an acute decompensation of a chronic cardiovascular pathology.
Cardiac rehabilitation has played a key role in the effective management of the disease and in the promotion of cardiovascular health for several decades.
In this way, it becomes fundamental to develop innovative strategies that allow the continuation of those already existing and defined by the National Program for Cardiac Rehabilitation, developed in the context of a multidisciplinary team.
Rehabilitation nursing, as an autonomous area in the provision of specialized care, plays an important role in the success of this national strategy, which follows international trends.
The post-graduate course in Cardiac Rehabilitation Nursing thus intends to fill in the training needs of the post-graduate specialization course in rehabilitation nursing, in order to provide Specialist Nurses in Rehabilitation Nursing with the technical, scientific and human knowledge and skills that allow them to effectively intervene in people with cardiovascular disorders, thus generating health gains directly associated with specialized care.
