The Prevention and Control of Infections Associated with Health Care, emerges as a field of action in constant change in the face of the emergence of new threats, resulting from the emergence of new microorganisms and resistance to antibiotics, with implications for the guarantee of quality and safety of care , as well as professional practice. The exercise of nurses in this area of health care is in accordance with Regulation no. 674/2021, Regulation of Differentiated Increased Competence in Nursing in Infection Prevention and Control of the Order of Nurses, published in the Republic Diary, 2nd series of July 20, “determining to ensure effective and integral support to the target person care, family/caregiver and community in different health contexts, locally, regionally and nationally, from the perspective of prevention and control of infection associated with health care”.
In this way, this course seeks to equip nurses with skills in response to the challenges posed by working in a multidisciplinary team for the prevention and control of
infections associated with health care, ensuring the quality and safety of care and professional practice.
