Dialysis consists of two renal function replacement therapies, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, which are the most used worldwide, despite being very expensive and limited techniques, as they cannot fully replace the hormonal function of the kidney, in addition to requiring a severe dietary restriction and a complex therapeutic plan on the part of the person in a regular therapy program. Specialized practice in dialysis nursing is essential to ensure efficient and comprehensive support to the individual undergoing dialysis treatment, ensuring a cohesive intervention in all stages of the health/disease process and in supporting the person and their families/caregivers, promoting their potential for autonomy. The growing differentiation in the various nursing specialties, combined with the availability of specific training that meets the needs and demands of professionals, emphasizes the relevance of this specialized training that responds to the new competencies required in the area of Dialysis Nursing by the Order of Nurses. The certification of competencies is based on valuing the professional trajectory of nurses, both in terms of work experience and training paths. In this context, this course seeks to satisfy one of the essential requirements for obtaining the Certification of Increased Competence in Dialysis Nursing. Goals: - Contribute to the development of increased skills in dialysis nursing; - To contribute to the training of nurses with skills for the production and application of scientific knowledge in the area of dialysis nursing.
