Objetivos do Curso

- To train in the recognition of and intervention in child development and the neonatal and paediatric rehabilitation process;

- To develop the ability to design, implement and evaluate neonatal and paediatric rehabilitation nursing programmes, within the framework of the national strategy;

- To train for integration into multidisciplinary neonatal and paediatric prevention and rehabilitation teams;

- To value evidence-based practice as a strategy for continuous improvement in the quality of neonatal and paediatric rehabilitation nursing care.

Objetivos de Aprendizagem e competências a Desenvolver

- Understand the milestones of neuropsychomotor development in newborns and children that influence functional prognosis;

- Use assessment strategies based on standardised instruments and clinical protocols to plan, carry out rehabilitation interventions and evaluate results in children with developmental disorders and neurological, cardiorespiratory and orthopaedic conditions;

- Promote interdisciplinary intervention with a focus on including the family in the therapeutic process and promoting a stimulating and safe environment;

- To develop skills for action and research in the field of neonatal and paediatric rehabilitation;

- To develop knowledge and skills in the field of paediatric palliative care rehabilitation;

- To develop the capacity for analysis and critical-reflective thinking for problem-solving and clinical decision-making in the field of rehabilitation nursing care for children of neonatal or paediatric age.
