Master's Degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing in the specialization area of Perioperative Nursing

Objetivos do Curso

-Contribute to the development of specialized clinical competences in Medical-Surgical nursing in the area of nursing for the person in a perioperative situation;

- Contribute to the training of nurses with skills for the production and application of advanced scientific knowledge, as well as for autonomous, reflective decision-making based on the best evidence;

- Develop skills that allow nurses to learn throughout life in a self-oriented or autonomous way.

Condições de Acesso e Ingresso

May apply for the course holders of the following academic qualifications:

a) Holders of a Licensed Degree or legally equivalent qualification in Nursing;

b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, conferred following a first cycle of studies in Nursing, organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna process by countries adhering to this process;

c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree in Nursing, recognized in Portugal, under the terms of Decree-Law no. 283/83, of 21 June, Decree-Law no. 341/2007, of 12 October and the Decree-Law n.º 66/2018, of August 16th and which, cumulatively, meet the following additional requirements:

i) Holders of the professional title of nurse;

ii) Have at least 2 years of professional experience as a nurse.

Saídas profissionais

The course promotes the acquisition of competences defined by the Ordem dos Enfermeiros for the Specialist Nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing in the area of Specialization in Nursing for the Person in Perioperative Situation highlighting ethical competences, relational competences and high quality and and high quality complex competences.

Objetivos de Aprendizagem e competências a Desenvolver

- Develop a professional, ethical and legal practice in the area of nursing specialty, acting in accordance with legal norms, ethical principles and professional ethics;

- Ensure a proactive role in the development and support of institutional strategic initiatives in the area of clinical governance;

- Adapt leadership and resources management to the situations and contexts, aiming the care quality assurance;

- Take care of the person/family/caregivers with complex medical situation and/or surgical processes resulting from acute or chronic disease;

- Optimize the environment and the therapeutic processes for the person/family/caregivers with complex medical situation and/or surgical processes resulting from acute or chronic disease;

- Maximize prevention, intervention and control of infection and resistance to antimicrobials to the person with complex medical situation and/or surgical processes resulting from acute or chronic disease;

- Base your specialized clinical practice on scientific evidence.
