The teaching methodology will be essentially theoretical practice using laboratory practices. The practical component will have greater weightin the individual evaluation of the student and will be continuous. The teacher exposes the theoretical contents - class T- , demonstrates the execution of the technique - TP class - and then supervises and assists students in the application of knowledge - PL class. For the proper development of judgment and critical thinking regarding the reason for the consultation, it is essential to correctly diagnose and appropriately choose the techniques to be applied, so individual studies based on case study – Class OT will be developed. Students should practice Chinese manual therapy in groups of two and energy exercises individually. The evaluation will be developed using 1 Midterm exam (20%), a continuous practical evaluation (50%) and individual case studies (30%).
Tuina and qigong
- Evaluate the neuromeningeal and functional state of joints through specific tests
- Outline treatment plans for internal disorders using Chinese manual therapy
- Perform more complex qigong exercises and basic taichi exercises
- Plan, organize and guide a class of energetic exercises (qigong and taichi) aimed at a specific pathology or as an activity to promote physical and mental health.
- Solve practical cases outline for a possible treatment plan.
- Demonstrate theoretical knowledge regarding the physiological bases, indications, contraindications and mechanisms of action of energy exercises (Qi Gong), manual therapy and Chinese massage (Tui Na), as auxiliary acupuncture treatment methods.
- Apply Chinese terminology related to manual therapy and Chinese massage;
- Perform energy exercises, manual therapy techniques and Chinese massage
- Apply in living model the techniques of manual therapy and Chinese massage;
- Know the effects, indications, contraindications and perform ban fa techniques;
- To justify the therapeutic interventions of energy exercises and Chinese manual therapy planned and directed to situations of disease or risk of disease; - Plan, organize and guide a class of energetic exercises directed to a specific pathology or as an activity to promote physical and mental health.
