Métodos de ensino

Different pedagogical methodologies will be used, such as the projection of films and documentaries, case analysis and discussion, role-play and role-reversal, motivating students to participate actively in class.
Assessment is carried out through two written tests and one written assignment, with a relative weight of 40%, 40% and 20% respectively.


Objetivos de Unidade Curricular

To characterize the area of Developmental Psychology;
To understand the importance of psychological phenomena;
Understand the human being as a biopsychosocial being that develops throughout the life cycle with influence of
various factors;
Understand critically the developmental period experienced by the student himself as a young adult in transition to
higher education;
Stimulate personal development and the acquisition of relational skills appropriate to the help relationship with
clients of all stages of development;
To explain the contribution of Psychology of Development to the practice of health professionals in adaptation of
interventions to the development phase and to development needs of each client.

1.Nuclear concepts and main theories for understanding human development: Theoretical models of lifelong development cognitive, moral, psychosexual and psychosocial development;
2.Periods of development and their tasks throughout the life cycle: Prenatal and neonatal development; Childhood; Pre-school age; School age; Adolescence; Adult and Aged;
3.Notions of Developmental Psychopathology and changes in normal development;
4.Implication of the knowledge of Psychology of Development to professional practice in health and for the help relationship.
