The teaching methodology will be essentially theoretical and practical using laboratory practices. Both components, practical and theoretical, will have the same weight in the final grade of the discipline. The teacher explains the theoretical concepts - class T, demonstrates the different techniques in students - class TP - and then supervises and assists students in the application of knowledge - class PL. Students should practice in groups of two. The evaluation will be developed using two theoretical examination (25%+25%) and practical examination using continuous assessment of practical classes (50%).
- To know the preparation of the patient and his correct positioning, taking into account his personal characteristics including age, during the acupuncture session;
- To know the main characteristics and master the application of different acupuncture needles;
- To know the precautions of hygiene and disinfection in the clinical practice;
- To know the indications, effects and master the application of different puncture techniques in different body segments and acupuncture points;
- To identify the indications, effects, contraindications and master the different techniques of application of moxibustion;
- To know the indications, the effects, the contraindications and to dominate the different techniques of application of the suction cups;
- To know the indications, effects, contraindications and master the different techniques of electroacupuncture and laser application.
