Métodos de ensino

The course is semi-annual and consists of lectures, theoretical-practical and laboratory practices.
The assessment includes two written exams (60%), a practical test (20%) and a group written essay (20%).


Objetivos de Unidade Curricular

-    Osteopath action fundamentals in urogynecology and obsterícia;

-    Properly use appropriate assessment tools;

-    Know, assess and intervene appropriately in the main pathologies associated with urogynecology and obstrícia;

-    Explain coherently the underlying clinical reasoning to the mechanism of action and physiological effects of different osteopathic techniques used in urogynecology and obstetrics;

-    Run correctly the different types of osteopathic techniques used in urogynecology and obstetrics, enumerating its indications and contraindications.

Anatomical review of the urinary tract and female reproductive system;
Role of osteopathic treatment of urogynecological and obstetrical spheres;

Diferencial diagnosis;
Notions of allopathic treatment - medication;
Diagnosis and decision osteopathic intervention in urogynecology and obstetrics;
Most common diseases in urogynecology and obstetrics;
Osteopathic intervention in the most common diseases in urogynecology and obstetrics;
Osteopathy in pregnant and postpartum lesional chains;
Headaches and migraines;
Osteopathic functional techniques - specific intervention in osteopathy;
Importance of structural intervention, cranial sacral, cranial and visceral in urogynecology and obstetrics;
Indications and contraindications of Osteopathy in urogynecology and obstetrics;
Discussion of clinical cases.
