The curricular unit is theoretical, theoretical and practical and its main objective is the acquisition of reasoning skills and in-depth knowledge of the osteopathic-related science. Expository, interrogative and demonstrative methods and the analysis of case studies will be used to better assimilate the studied contents.
The final classification of the curricular unit results from the grades obtained in two written tests and one mandatory individual work: written tests 80% (40% + 40%) and group work 20%.
- To understand the principles of osteopathic assessment and diagnosis associated with the somatic dysfunction mechanism, specifically in the digestive, urinary and reproductive systems’ osteopathic approach, as well as the structures of the anterior cranial sphere, in particular with regard to the facial bones and the temporomandibular joint;
- To demonstrate knowledge about the theoretical and theoretical-practical concepts of anatomy, biomechanics, medical pathology, osteopathic pathology and osteopathic diagnosis related to a visceral, cranial and autonomic nervous osteopathic intervention;
- To integrate the osteopathic assessment and diagnosis principles into the osteopathic clinical decision.
