The curricular unit is theoretical, theoretical and practical and its main objective is the acquisition of reasoning skills and in-depth knowledge of the osteopathic-related science. Expository, interrogative and demonstrative methods and the analysis of case studies will be used to better assimilate the studied contents.
The final classification of the curricular unit results from the graades obtained in two written tests and one individual work: written tests 70% (35% + 35%) and individual work 30%.
To understand the principles of osteopathic assessment and diagnosis associated with the somatic dysfunction mechanism, particularizing the cervical spine, shoulder girdle and upper limb osteopathic approach.
To demonstrate theoretical and theoretical-practical knowledge concerning the concepts of anatomy, biomechanics, medical pathology, osteopathic pathology and osteopathic diagnosis related to the osteopathic intervention in the cervical spine, shoulder girdle and upper limb.
To integrate the osteopathic assessment and diagnosis principles in the osteopathic reasoning and clinical decision making.

Structural osteopathy - upper limb: elbow, wrist and hand: anatomy; biomechanics / articular physiology; medical pathology; differential diagnosis; osteopathic pathology / somatic dysfunctions; osteopathic diagnosis.
