Osteopathy is the science that, through a manual approach, intervenes with the person, with the aim of restoring their health, reestablishing their well-being, quality of life, autonomy and independence, allowing the person to remain active and participatory in their family, social and professional life activities.
Its intervention is based on the use of different physical examinations, complemented with diagnostic examinations (anamnesis, client observation, neurological assessment and musculoskeletal assessment). Based on the result of the established diagnosis, an intervention program will be defined, based on manual therapy, in order to promote the person's functional recovery/rehabilitation, eliminating their physical, mental and emotional dysfunctions and limitations.
In this holistic approach, the entire body's functioning is studied and intervened to restore its balance. From this perspective, it also intervenes at the level of activities and lifestyle habits and of the person, with the aim of maximizing the results of the established therapy and maintaining their health throughout the life cycle.
