Portuguese Higher Education

In Portugal, higher education is organized in a binary system, which integrates university education and polytechnic education and has a structure based on 4 cycles: a short-term study cycle (professional higher technical course), which does not confer an academic degree and three cycles of studies leading to the academic degrees of bachelor, master and doctor.
