International Student
1 — For the purposes of this special admission, an International Student is a student who does not have Portuguese nationality .
2 — The following are not covered by the provisions of the previous paragraph:
a) Nationals of a Member State of the European Union;
b) Family members of Portuguese nationals or nationals of a member state of the European Union, regardless of their nationality;
c) Those who, not being nationals of a member state of the European Union and not being covered by the previous paragraph, have legally resided in Portugal for more than two years, uninterruptedly, on January 1st of the year in which they intend to enter higher education , as well as the children who legally reside with them;
d) Those who are beneficiaries, on January 1st of the year in which they intend to enter higher education, of a status of equal rights and duties attributed under an international treaty granted between the Portuguese State and the State of which they are nationals;
e) Those who require entry into higher education through the special access and entry regimes regulated by Decree-Law no. 393-A/99, of October 2, amended by Decree-Law no. 272/2009, of October 1st.
3 - Foreign students who are attending a Portuguese higher education institution as part of an international mobility program to carry out part of a study cycle at an educational institution are not also covered by the provisions of paragraph 1. foreign superior with whom the Portuguese institution has established an exchange agreement for this purpose.
4 - The length of residence with a residence permit for study is not relevant for the purposes of the provisions of paragraph c) of paragraph 2.
5 - Without prejudice to the provisions of the following number, students who enter higher education under the provisions of this diploma maintain the status of international student until the end of the study cycle in which they initially enrolled or for which they transition, even if, During the study cycle, they will be granted the status of equal rights and duties under an international treaty granted between the Portuguese State and the State of which they are nationals.
6 - International students who acquire the nationality of a Member State of the European Union are excluded from the provisions of the previous paragraph.
7 - The cessation of application of international student status as a result of the provisions of the previous paragraph takes effect in the academic year following the date of acquisition of nationality.
8 - For the purposes of paragraph b) of paragraph 2, family members are those who are considered as such under the terms of Law no. 37/2006, of 9 August.

Application
The application is made by completing and submitting the electronic form online on the InforEstudante platform, accompanied by the following documents:
b) Personal identification document or passport, which expressly states the candidate's nationality;
c) Document with the national or foreign tax identification number, for the purpose of issuing receipts for payments made;
d) Education/training diplomas/certificates, namely the qualification that gives access to higher education in the country of origin and Portuguese secondary education or equivalent qualification, translated into Portuguese or English, and must be authenticated by the official services of the respective country of origin. origin, endorsed by a Portuguese diplomatic or consular authority in that country (or bring an apostille of the Hague Convention);
e) Document proving the classification obtained in the specific academic qualification required, in accordance with article 4 of the regulation;
f) Certificate of training provided by Instituto Camões at level B2, when applicable;
g) Declaration , under oath, made by the candidate himself;
h) Request, in the application form, requesting the application of student status in an emergency situation for humanitarian reasons, provided for in article 8.º -A, of Decree-Law no. 62/2018 of 6 August, accompanied by documentation, issued by the Foreigners and Borders Service, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees or the International Organization for Migration, proving that the applicant is in one of the situations referred to in the aforementioned article, when applicable.
2 — The documents referred to in paragraph e) of the previous number must be translated into Portuguese.
3 — The documents referred to in paragraphs d) and e) of the previous paragraph must be authenticated by the official services of the respective country of origin, endorsed by a Portuguese diplomatic or consular authority in that country (or carry an apostille of the Hague Convention).
Access Conditions
International students who meet one of the following conditions can apply:
a) Holders of a qualification that gives access to higher education, understood as any diploma or certificate issued by a competent authority that attests to approval in an educational program and gives them the right to apply for and be able to enter higher education in the country in which that was checked;
b) Holders of a Portuguese secondary education diploma or legally equivalent qualification.
Entry Conditions
- The conditions for entry into the 1st Study Cycle of the Degree Courses are:
a) Verification of the specific academic qualification for entry into the study cycle that will focus on the subjects of the entrance tests established for the study cycle in question within the scope of the general access and entry regime, in accordance with paragraph 2 of the article 6th of Decree-Law no. 36/2014, of March 10;
b) Verification of knowledge of the Portuguese language;
c) Verification of satisfaction of the Prerequisites – Group A, to be submitted at the time of registration.
- Verification of specific academic qualifications:
a) Candidates holding a Portuguese secondary education course or equivalent : through a document certifying that they hold the Portuguese entrance exams, set for the study cycle in question, within the scope of the general access and entry regime (Annex I);
b) Candidates holding non-Portuguese courses legally equivalent to Portuguese secondary education: the required entrance tests may be replaced by national final examinations of subjects from those courses, in accordance with article 20.º-A of Decree-Law no. 296 - A/98, of September 25th in its current wording and Deliberation no. 974/2015, of May 29th;
c) Brazilian candidates who have completed high school (BRAZIL): use the classifications obtained in the areas of the exam referred to in Annex II, with the respective weights, as long as they obtain a minimum classification of 475 in the area(s) relevant to the course what they are applying for; Find out more about using ENEM
d) Candidates from Portuguese-speaking African Countries - PALOP (Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe) and Timor-Leste: use the classifications in secondary education subjects corresponding to the entrance tests referred to in Annex I , as long as they obtain the minimum classification required to pass the scale of the country of origin;
e) In other situations, candidates must take a written test, possibly complemented by an oral test, to be carried out at ESSNorteCVP, which will cover content equivalent to the entrance tests set for the 1st Study Cycle of Degree Courses, in the year of application. .
- Verification of knowledge of the Portuguese language
Candidates who prove one of the following situations are exempt from taking language knowledge tests:
a) Candidate whose mother tongue is Portuguese;
b) Candidate whose secondary education course was taught in Portuguese;
c) Candidates who have certification from Instituto Camões at level B2.
Document validation
- The mandatory documents listed in the Notice referred to in article 7 of the special competition regulations, which are not issued in Portuguese, English, French or Spanish, must be authenticated by the official services of the respective country of origin, translated and endorsed by a Portuguese diplomatic or consular authority in that country (or bring an apostille of the Hague Convention).
- International students who do not have translated and endorsed documents on the date of submission of the application must include in the process a duly substantiated application, in which they declare that they hold the required academic qualifications and qualifications, accompanied by untranslated and non-endorsed documents, and undertake to present themselves on the registration/registration date, if they obtain a “Placed” result, under penalty of exclusion.

Fees
Application Fee – Special Competitions: €150
Application Fee for Tests – Special Competitions: €150
Annual Registration/Registration Fee (includes school insurance and student card): €390
Annual course fee: €3,420.00.
In the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years, payment can be made in full at the time of registration/enrollment or in 11 monthly installments. In the 1st year, payment can be made in full at the time of registration/enrollment or in 10 monthly installments.
If you pay the tuition fee in full at the beginning of the academic year, you will benefit from a 10% discount, or 5% on the total tuition fee when paid in two monthly installments, at the beginning of each semester.
